Free Ambition: Where are you from?
Derek Doll: Shreveport, Louisiana
Free Ambition: Where do you live now?
Derek Doll: New York City, NY
Free Ambition: What are your talents?
Derek Doll: Geez, uhm... I'm a singer-songwriter, actor, dancer, model, radio personality, fashion designer, entertainment executive, and entrepreneur. Right now, I'm mainly focusing on my music career.
Free Ambition: How are you working on your talent currently?
Derek Doll: I'm in the studio recording my first EP, performing/hosting events, auditioning for modeling and talent agencies, and producing a new show for MTV. I'm also considering returning to online radio next summer depending on how the music takes off.
Free Ambition: How long have you been working on it?
Derek Doll: I jumped back into the entertainment industry after I graduated from college in 2010, but I've been performing since I was able to walk and talk simultaneously LOL!
Free Ambition: Are you currently promoted?
Derek Doll: Somewhat. I'm not linked to any huge promoters or managers at this time. I do everything myself and with the help of a few friends.
Free Ambition:What is your material?
Derek Doll: I have a few promo songs out and have even started merchandising. There are some other special projects that I'm working on that will be revealed early 2013.

Free Ambition: Who have you worked with?
Derek Doll: Musically, I've collaborated with rappers Troof, Enso Sinatra, Yung Jaroc, Killa Cam, C tha Future, and Dejuari. I've also had the pleasure of working with producers like Brent Latin, Tyler Johnson, The Union, and Eazwood.
Free Ambition: Who inspired you?
Derek Doll: I'm inspired by all the greats that came before me. I'm deemed the "Prince of Neo-Pop" so its only right that I take note of royalty like Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, and even newer faces like Gaga, Bey, Miguel, Rihanna, and Drake.
Free Ambition: Where do you see yourself in a year?
Derek Doll: Gracing magazine covers and red carpets, blazing studios, climbing charts, and on everyone's "best new ___" list for 2014. That's my dream for 2013.
Free Ambition: Where do you shop?
Derek Doll: I shop wherever I'm inspired to purchase. If a piece catches my eye, I get it. Doesn't matter if its SAKS Fifth Ave. or Goodwill. I'm a serial thrifter though. Older fashions are more trendy to me.
Free Ambition: What is your style?
Derek Doll: I'm Neo-Pop in all my ways. I have a "retro-futuristic" mindset so that how I dress when I'm in Derek Doll mode. I used to be a fan of nice suits and hard bottoms, but now I'm into skinny jeans, boots, and my personal SupaBOW™ collection. No one rocks it like me, but in a few years I'm sure it will spread like an epidemic LOL!
Free Ambition: Who is your favorite artist? Why?
Derek Doll: Of all-time? I'd have to say Whitney Houston. Her voice comforted me as a child and she became a mainstay throughout my adolescence and young adulthood. Her life outside the music is what inspires me most. Not to far behind her is Prince and MJ, but ironically not for their music--their fashion gives me every bit of life!
