Renee Hall Carter

Free Ambition: Where are you from?

Columbus, GA

Renee Hall Carter: Born in Columbus GA., but being from a military family, moved to Bamberg Germany my second year of High School.

Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany

Free Ambition: Where do you live now?

Atlanta, GA

Renee Hall CarterI’m currently living in Atlanta.

Free Ambition: What helped you decide to create independent media?

Renee Hall CarterI wanted a platform to stand on so that I can help others to have a voice. With everything going on in the world people need an outlet.

Free Ambition:How long has Saturday Frenzy been around?

Renee Hall CarterSaturday Frenzy started April 11, 2015. Where did the idea come from? As an Aquarius I’m always in my head, so I’m thinking all the time and I was thinking what can I do to help people? How can I heal some of the wounds that people are hurting from. I called up my bestie and I told her I wanted to be able to reach people; but in my head because I’m always thinking big, I thought TV, why not? I’ve been on TV before, but that was a little out of my reach, so she said “how about blog talk radio”? I said that’s a GREAT idea. I was so excited I called my business partner and said “I have an idea, I told him the concept and he said “Renee you have a lot of great ideas, let’s put some of them into play”, so I said let’s do it….

Free AmbitionWhen I tune in to Saturday Frenzy, I hear everything from good music to the latest pop culture news...what is the mission for Saturday Frenzy, and what can we expect to hear when we tune in?

Renee Hall CarterAgain, our main mission is to give people a voice. Everyone’s so angry now a days and when you don’t release that pressure you explode, so before they get to that point, we want them to call in and get things off their chest. Get a virtual hug or maybe even a virtual high 5.

When you tune in you can expect to hear current events, sports, music, comedy, you can also expect to receive resources on a number of things. About a week ago we had a Human Resource Consultant on the show. Things are quickly changing in the job market and we would like for people to be able to keep up. In the near future we will be speaking with Doctors, Lawyers, Credit Analyst, Fitness experts, Spiritual and Life Coaches and many more.

Free Ambition: What do you think is the wildest pop culture news story so far in 2015?

Renee Hall Carter: This wouldn’t be considered pop culture but it would be Suge Knight literally running over and killing a man that was supposed to be his friend……
Tupac Shakur & Suge Knight
Free AmbitionSome news outlets have tailored their own “media safe” version of the message of...

#BlackLivesMatter....What would you like to see different in the coverage of the mistreatment of Black men and women?

Renee Hall CarterI would love to see equality. For some reason the media is quick to portray blacks in a negative type manner. For instance during hurricane Katrina people were looting both blacks and whites, but the blacks were labeled as thugs while the whites were reported as simply searching for food to feed their families. If a white person shoots up a movie theatre he is labeled as misguided, if a black person shoots up a theatre he is labeled a monster. It’s ridiculous.

There are a lot of positive stories that NEVER make the news, for instance Akon bringing electricity to 600 million people in Africa is a big deal but the media hasn’t covered that at all.

Akon
It just makes you wonder when the hate is so great for one race we must really be shining because they are always throwing shade…..

Free Ambition: Is the Atlanta Metro area the only region that you cover for entertainment news?

Renee Hall CarterNot at all, if we have the information, we cover it.

Free AmbitionHow can people follow you on social media?

Renee Hall CarterYou can find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/SaturdayFrenzy and Instagram @saturdayfrenzy

Free Ambition: Do you have any advice for entrepreneurs getting starting in media?

Renee Hall Carter: Do your homework, know your audience, have fun with it and if it doesn’t work the first time, keep trying. Never ever give up and continue to fail your way to the top.

Free AmbitionWhat are some of the obstacles you ran into while getting started?

Renee Hall Carter: Getting started was the easy part, keeping it going is harder. It’s hard to get people to listen and follow what you are doing. Out of all of my friends I can honestly say about 5 have listened in and participated.

Free Ambition: What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Renee Hall CarterBelieve it or not “Network Marketing”. I’m a Paralegal by profession and years back I lost my job to a company that I worked so hard for. I generated close to $200,000 on a monthly basis, I led the company from 3rd place to 1st in a matter of months, I literally busted my butt only to be laid off.

I was soooo angry I didn’t know what to do. I called my mother crying and I said to her “I’m tired of this, I work my butt off and they still don’t appreciate me, I will never work for anyone again”.

So a friend invited me to a network marketing event, I started going to the leadership trainings and the conventions, I started listening and hearing millionaires tell their stories and most of what they were saying about jobs made since.
Lisa Nicole Cloud

Needless to say network marketing wasn’t the best for me, but you get out of it what you put in it. I’ve met millionaires; I’ve made great friends and have great mentors. One of my mentors happens to be Lisa Nicole Cloud from “Married to Medicine” I was a part of her team and she is very inspirational.

Free Ambition: What do you think needs to change in the Black community, for more Black youth to aspire to choose entrepreneurship and building wealth?

Renee Hall CarterThe black community’s mindset is one dimensional….. It’s been that way for generations. Unfortunately we still have that slave mentality and we wait for people to tell us to do things versus using our own minds. Before we can create wealth and entrepreneurship in our community we first have to free our minds and change our way of thinking. We need to realize we don’t need permission to be who we were created to be and we were created for greatness.

Free Ambition: Who inspired you while growing up?

Renee Hall CarterI can’t really say anyone inspired me, but my grandmother who was my heart, as well as my mother instilled a great set of values in me. My family and friends encourage me to keep pushing even when I feel like giving up. When I was young I was taught to do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and to be the best in whatever I do. These are a few things I try to live by.

Free Ambition: What are your five year goals as a business woman?

Renee Hall CarterMy goals are to finish my book, executive produce a self written movie as well as a few reality shows and to create a nonprofit for disabled veterans.

Free AmbitionWhat is your personal fashion style?

Renee Hall CarterI tend to be trendy, I love keeping up with the latest fashion but I also like
taking things and making it my own.

Free Ambition: Where do you shop?

Renee Hall CarterI don’t have any particular place, where ever I see something that I think would look good on me I buy it. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Boutique, SAKS, Macy’s, Target, Thrift store etc……

Free Ambition: Are there any accomplished entrepreneurs whom you respect and admire?

Renee Hall CarterOprah, Michelle Obama,
Michelle Obama
Lisa Nicole Cloud, Tashina Anderson, Stan and Chereace Richards and Kris Jenner
Why? I believe the FLOTUS and Oprah are self explanatory.

Lisa, Tashina, Stan and Chereace all built million dollar businesses through network marketing.
Stan and Chereace Richards

Stan drove the bus for over 20 years got tired, tried network marketing and built a million dollar business; he went from the bus to the Bentley in a matter of years.

Now I’m sure people will be surprised that I respect and admire Kris Jenner.
Kris Jenner
People can say what they want, but Kris took a sex tape of her daughter and turned it into a million dollar industry.
